I am delighted to share with you a reflection on the use of matte gold in Ancient Greece, a major source of inspiration in the creation of my jewelry!

This fascinating practice combines both a sophisticated aesthetic and very symbolic meanings.

For millennia, matte gold has been used for a variety of objects, including jewelry, coins, vase and statue decorations, as well as ritual and religious objects.

Its remarkable quality lies in its resistance to signs of wear while retaining its natural luster. Thus, matte gold remains both an aesthetic and functional material, designed to be worn and enjoyed every day. Unlike polished gold, whose luster can be overpowering, matte gold offers a more subtle and understated elegance.

Ancient Greek artisans used matte gold to give their creations a sense of nobility and durability. The gilding techniques used allowed them to highlight the fine details and graceful shapes of the jewelry, making each piece unique and precious.
